Greetings unto the list,

I have been reading everyone's opinions with great interested,  and have found them to be well reasoned and congenial.  So I suppose its time for my two pence worth.

I personally would like to see a one term limit for champions.  I have known champions who were expected to defend their position and due to their skill maintained their postion year after year, even though they would have preferred to step down (their honor being such that the couldn't "throw" the contest).

Having said that, I can see circumstances where it would be permissible (with Their Excellencies' permission) for a champion to compete for another term.  Such might be if there weren't a suitable number of  fresh contestants to have a good contest.  At that point I think I would rather just extend their term for another year (maximum of two) rather than let the Champion title rest in abayance.

I also agree that we need a better weekend to hold our Champions' Trials.

To the People of Wyewood,

We have been recently notified that one of our champions has so enjoyed
their tenure that they wish to defend their position.  After reviewing
the Customary, we have determined that there is nothing clearly barring
our Champions from doing so, we know that Wyewood has a tradition of not
allowing Champions to succeed themselves.

What say you?

Please reply and tell us Yay (champions should be able to succeed
themselves) or Nay (champions should wait until the next tournament),
and Why.

With our Champions event being this coming Saturday, we ask that any
commentary be sent to us before Noon on Friday, August 25.
