Business meeting minutes

Meeting taking place via Zoom Meetings



  *   Seneschal - Rosa



**Still in shut down- King county is currently in phase 2



-5 new people joined our discussion group

-Champions event is cancelled: most of all August events are/may be cancelled

-Marshall activities still shutdown due to covid: unofficial activities/virtual classes are happening

-Geoffrey asked to step down as Web minister. Will stay on till replacement steps up. We appreciate him and his service as Web minister.

  *   Will be posting officer position to yahoo and email.



  *   Exchequer - Gwir



-Got one donation of $100

  *   Deposited to checking

-$105 of checks from last year’s Feast of St. Bubba were voided and put back into checking account

-Checking account

  *   $4194.20

-Savings account

  *   12792.57

-2nd quarter will be submitted in about 2 weeks

-1st week of July will be a financial meeting

-signature cards are out now

-financial policy is officially updated to kingdom-PayPal added



  *   A&S – Sofia



-Sent/posted report and activities request to Facebook and Email list

-Virtual FCS on the 10th of July will feature a stellar discussion by HE Alrich and Mir

-Thanks to Avine for updating the barony of Kingdom events/virtual classes

- A&S FCS on June 12th had 9 people join in the conversations and even has one visitor from Barony of Cold Keep

  *   With being able to have virtual socials, we can enjoy having other people from across the known world join in and participate in our socials

-Athenaeum has 3 people presenting in the event

-Rauthulfr still trying to decipher his project

-Gwen is working on her gauntlets/cuffs

-Her Excellency Aline will be putting together a class July 5th at Calontir’s cook’s symposium

  *   Will be about getting people talking about different cooking periods

-There are classes in the Known World entertainment guide featuring Dukes and other nobles

  *   Round tables and classes

-Seneschal will be teaching a class

-Rapier classes with videos being posted

-Seneschal Rosa has been hosting A&S every Saturday mornings

-Seneschal Rosa planning on hosting a class on Zoom about second generations called “We grew up here and why we stayed.”

  *   All peerages will be represented in class-Mod’s, dukes, Laurels, etc.

-An Tir will be hosting a list of virtual events including An Tir West war.

-Alessandra added service minded people from other kingdoms

-Alizand from Blath an Oir presented that Hafpora won the outline drawing in the Shelter in place Scribal war and that she came in second in the Illumination.



  *   Archery – Tim



-Went to range and saw that the field was mowed. Tim did some maintenance but could use another cut/mow.

-Deputies will salvage and toss of damaged Thrown Weapons items left on the field



  *   Baron and Baroness – His Excellency Alrich and Aline



-HE thanks Geoffrey for is service being the web minister.

-HE is excited to see all the activity happening in the barony.

-HE would like to attend marshal activities but can’t yet due to the statewide shutdown



** “As we are forced to go online for activities, things are coming to light. Change will happen but it can be painful. Not going to go into details but there have been some surprises and they have been taken up to the Board. We are a diverse group and I am proud of our Barony.” **



-Gwir and Rosa are planning a virtual event

-Again, thanks Avine for posting events online and to the email list

-Virtual Camping event, shared idea by Gera of Madrone

  *   Would be called “Wyewood we wait” and would be potentially held the weekend Champions would have been
  *   Set up camping scenes/scenarios for each room
  *   Still researching platforms to hold event
  *   Since no gate, no site fee but would encourage donations via PayPal for any electronic structure that would be needed and would need to be paid for.
  *   Looking for help if anyone is interested in helping with the event. Just email Seneschal or Exchequer

-Event that is still on the calendar: 12th Night 2021

  *   Spike of Madrone and John still having meetings. In July will have a meeting about having a contingency for Sept. Crown if crown is cancelled
  *   Also talking with Kingdom Earl Marshall about contingency of Sept. Crown at Kingdom Feast.
  *   Might be out of money if event is cancelled by state, if not by state may be covered by Kingdom



-Laura asking about getting beads for necklaces since she has baggy pouches, she could donate





Added Reports sent in email prior to meeting:



John de Percy mowed the range a little while ago.  I took the weed eater out and did trimming around the bales. The range could use being mowed again.



The tarp is gone from the thrown weapons range.  I have asked Leo to take a look at the stuff there to see what is still good and what isn't so we can get it cleaned up and replace things if we need to.



I've taught a couple TAM classes and am putting together an SCA-wide archery discussion session.
