Greetings,

At our last Business Meeting, a virtual event was proposed for August.
Unfortunately, there may have been some confusion and the event approved
without a lot of understanding of what it is. As the Event Steward, I'd
like to have your opinion on interest before moving forward.

The vision is a virtual "camping" event. This does not mean participants
need to camp - you could put a banner behind your couch or make a blanket
fort or set up a tent in your backyard or nothing at all. The idea is to
offer activities that would be enjoyed at an overnight situation - a
campfire chat, storytelling, a bardic circle. Maybe some classes or other
gatherings, possibly a breakfast get-together...
The format would be engaging by video (probably Zoom) and various threads
on the Facebook events like a "campsite" contest and an Arts and Sciences
Fails showcase. For Zoom, we are putting a lot of attention into high
security.
I created a poll on the Barony of Wyewood Discussion group with some ways
to express interest (or lack of). If you're not on Facebook or would just
prefer email, I'd value your feedback by replying to me at
gwir.sca at gmail.com.

In case it helps in your email, the options included on the Facebook poll
were:

   - I would attend
   - I would attend with technical assistance
   - I would not attend
   - I would volunteer to host a room where someone was presenting - watch
chat and monitor waiting room. (No Zoom required.)
   - I would volunteer to present/teach or manage interaction in a room
which someone was hosting/monitoring. (No Zoom required.)
   - I would volunteer to help otherwise - track pre-registration, planning
team, technical support, help with EDI concerns, etc.

I'm also eager to answer any questions at gwir.sca at gmail.com.

In Service,
Gwir verch Merewith
