Greetings unto the populace! At Avine's request, I wish to share
information about Zoom meetings since we are currently using Zoom for the No
Contact Socials and the Business Meetings.
Equipment needed: A phone or a computer with speakers (headphones work too)
Extras that aren't required: A microphone, a camera
To call into a zoom meeting (copied from Zoom support page):
Joining a meeting by phone only
1. Dial an in-country number. If you dial a toll number, your carrier
rates will apply. You can find the numbers on your meeting invitation or a
full list of international dial-in numbers at
<https://zoom.us/zoomconference> https://zoom.us/zoomconference.
2. You will be prompted to enter the
<https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362373-What-is-a-Meeting-ID->
meeting ID - the nine (9), ten (10), or eleven (11) digit ID provided to you
by the host, followed by #.
3. If the meeting has not already started and
<https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/202828525-Join-Before-Host> join
before host is not enabled, you will be prompted to enter the
<https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/205172555-Host-Key> host key to
start the meeting, or to press # to wait if you are participant.
4. You will be prompted to enter your unique participant ID. This only
applies if you have joined on the computer or mobile device or are a
panelist in a webinar. Press # to skip.
To join a meeting with your computer:
Click on the link provided by the meeting host in the email. Choose to
connect with computer audio. If you don't have a microphone or a camera,
Zoom should automatically mute you and disable video sharing.
If you have a camera, you can choose to click on turn video on to share your
video.
If you have audio with an inline mute, you may choose to remain unmuted in
Zoom and use the mute switch or button on your audio device.
No Microphone:
If you join without a microphone, there is a chat session on the right side
of the Zoom screen, so you are still able to participate. There is even a
drop down selection at the top of the chat area so you can choose who to
send your message to (you can choose an individual attendee, or you can
choose Everyone so that all can see your message).
I hope this helps. If you have questions that this fails to address, please
reach out to Avine and I, and we will attempt to provide answers.
