[Wyewood] Archery Report for 6/9/16

Evening Wyewood!

The rain threatened, it even drizzled a bit, lightly, but we Wyewood
Archers, hardy and intrepid, were not intimidated by being a little wet!
First, Johann, Geoffrey Deb (for now) and I reset the range.  It looks much
the same with the 10 and 15 now between the 40 and the right 20 yard
butts.  Thank you for splitting up the labor of pounding the posts in.  I
know my shoulders would have died were it not for your help!

Then, seven archers tested the reset range and one truly excelled, shooting
their best score ever! The rest of us seemed to have a "Meh" Royal Rounds
scored but still much fun was had.


Near the end of the practice Marian Beaumont and I were talking how she
loads her arrows.  It really has the potential for a quick load and a
speedy timed round once a small tweak was made in how she gripped the arrow
when drawing from the quiver.  I look forward to seeing her practice and
perfect the technique!

I have to admit, geeking out over many aspects of the SCA and archery fire
me up and turned my day around.


There was an injury reported yesterday to one of our archers, Avine de
Herte, who broke her little toe (NOT on the range!).  Thinking of you and
hope you heal up soon arcarius!
