Greetings Wyewood.

Polling forms have been mailed and are on their way to each of you. The
deadline for returning the forms to the crown has been extended to June
30th. It is incredibly important that as many people as possible return
their forms. Why you ask? Well...

Wyewood currenty has 140ish sustaining members living in it's borders. A
poor number of returns gives the appearance that the barony is not a
healthy one. Unfortunately the lack of multiple candidates on the ballot
could support this misconception. There were, in fact, four couples
nominated as baron and baroness. Circumstances of life made it so three of
those couples could not accept at this time. All three were interested in
the job but as we all know mundane life often trumps our desire to play.

So...it is important that the crown hear from as many of our members as
possible regarding their support (or lack of support) for the single couple
on the ballot. Thirty responses is not going to be sufficient. My guess is
that without responses from 40-60% of the population the crown will not be
comfortable making a decision. Not because they don't think the couple that
accepted the nomination aren't capable and qualified but because they
aren't seeing an investment from the members of the barony. I don't know
how the crown will choose to handle the situation if they don't get a
sufficient number of responses but I do know that I would rather not find
out.

In short, whether you are in support of the candidates or not it is
imperative that you take the time to fill out your polling form and get it
postmarked by June 30th. It is as simple as checking the appropriate box or
you can provide specific commentary if you wish.

If you have any questions about the process as we move forward please let
me know. And don't forget to attend our Meet & Greet at the FCS tomorrow
June 10th.

In Service,

Ameline
