As the season changes and the daylight is being chased away, the archers
of Wyewood are still shooting strong into the evening light. Most
impressive are the new cadre of archers from this season. If you did not
see on Facebook, Jeff Reed, who has been shooting only a couple of months,
won the archery defender tournament at Acorn War for the shire of Mountains
Edge, beating a member of the Order of the Grey Goose Shaft to do it! Many
are getting enough scores in for averages and their combined average is
Bowman rank of 60+ points. They are passionate, committed and having tons
of fun.

On the daylight issue, I anticipate the Wednesday practices will end
September 30th, so two more Wednesdays before we transition to just
Saturdays. Personally this is one of those bittersweet times as I greatly
enjoy the time on the range but also enjoy only having to haul gear and
report for one practice a week!

Note: No practice this Saturday, please go to Emprise of the Black Lion at
Reber Ranch just up the hill! There will be period style shoots, a York
Round and the Madrone Archery Championship with unique and challenging
shoots. It is a personal favorite of mine since all the action is on the
track and we are on the infield!
