Good Morning and Blessings to All.
Does anyone within Wyewood undertake any studies in HEMA style Harnisfechten? If you do, I'd be very keen to renew my SCA membership and study with you. I've been doing Blossfechten for years now, and see the armoured fighting as something that I've wanted to do but never found anyone with armour or inclination. I'm not on about the Behourd style of the heavy fighters by the way, I do see that as fully legitimate with mass weapons (just my opinion and I don't expect anyone to share it ever). Besides, my armour isn't up to SCA heavy fighter standards for padding. It's also a mix of periods and styles but does the job.
I'm still hoping to make some friends with you guys. If anyone ever wants to meet up in the day for chatting, exchange of knowledge or even building shields, I can do this and help but I am limited to Kent and can't drive. I have my issues to deal with being excruciatingly shy and potentially Aspergers, as well as being a foreigner, I find America fairly strange and daunting still and way too big and scary.
We continue to work with locals here in Kent with Blossfechten via the "Glamorgan School of Arms - US Chapter" and also we have been doing Hurstwic Viking Combat Training through the other group we organise on meetup, "AtheTyr".
