Thank you for forwarding this. Ædla was the second member of the Order of the Wye Knot and an officer of our branch in its earliest days. We only knew her a little but my family and I are saddened by this loss.

Gwendolyn,

On January 10th, we lost Her Ladyship Aedla de Bothe, long time Thornwood citizen and before that Wyewood citizen.

She moved up her circa 2004? I suspect your old timers will remember her. Please let them know. Robin of Windspur, her husband, is in mourning. Y'all are welcome to contact me (use mersha at mersha.org or 360-733-0386 (no text) if anyone wish to pass on a messages to Robin. I'll find out in the next few days if it is OK to call him directly.

Aedla was a vital and cheerful shire member from the time she moved up here to retire. She ran our Gold Key, did an enormous amount of waterbearing, helped Robin spread Norse wirework throughout this end of the Kingdom, was always ready to provide sage and sharp advice at shire meetings, and invented a highly successful Silent Auction that Thornwold runs annually to this day.

Personally, we were both rabid Anglo Saxons, and spent a lot of time nerding out. Aedla and I taught an enormous AS cultures class together several times. I can't begin to calculate everything she taught me, on an AS level and on how to be a good person. Although she did not play as much in the last decade, we visited eachother, and she never stopped being my sweet and smart friend. I will miss her so much!

Yours in Service,

Meresige
Thornwold Seneschal
