I am passing along message from Master Trahaearn of Madrone and Porte de
l'Eau
Sara de B
Greetings from Trahaearn!
I invite you to a dance practice this week in the Canton of Porte de
l'Eau. We meet on the first Thursday each month from 7 PM to 9 PM, so
for September that's Thursday, September 1. We had a post-lockdown
record attendance of 11 dancers in August, and I'm hoping many of you
will be able to join us again this month.
At dance practices we do a variety of English, French, and Italian
dances that date from about 1450 to 1651. We pick the dances each
evening based on the interests and abilities of those who attend.
Newcomers (to the SCA and/or to dancing) are always welcome. Most of us
will be in modern clothes and comfortable shoes, but garb is always
welcome.
Please watch this location for updates on Thursday; we had a family
COVID exposure over the weekend, and while we're all double-boosted, we
won't be able to test whether we're in the clear until then.
Practice will be at Trahaearn and Janelyn's home: 206 State St S,
Kirkland, WA (two blocks south of the Kirkland Transit Center and
Kirkland Library). Direct buses run here from UW Link station, Bellevue
TC, and Redmond TC. If you're driving, parking is usually easier on
State St itself than on the side streets.
We encourage everyone to wear masks, even though they are no longer
required by modern or society authorities.
An important note from the SCA: Although the SCA complies with all
applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event
participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious
diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person
events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You
agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety
and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.
