Greetings All!

I proposed a virtual "camping" event at the last business meeting which was
approved. So, now I'm looking for brave adventurers to be part of the team!
How about you? Please email me at gwir.sca at gmail.com if you're interested.
Information below includes date and time, positions needed, and a
description of the event.

The event is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, August 15 through 12:00 pm
Sunday, August 16. It will be held online via video and Facebook.

Positions we need to fill are:

   - Co-Steward - be a back-up person for the event and help manage
activities and troubleshoot on that day.
   - Presenters/Moderators - want to teach a class? run a bardic circle or
storytelling activity? What would you normally do at a camping event? Throw
out an idea and we can work out how to make it virtual.
   - Space Hosts - "Host" a space where an activity is being offered. My
goal is to have a host who is separate from each presenter/moderator to
monitor waiting rooms and chats. It would be amazing if Space Hosts have a
video service account they can offer.
   - Facebook Event Host(s) - some activities will take place on Facebook
via comments on specific posts. We will need at least person and ideally a
couple to post those as needed and to moderate.
   - EDI Coordinator - I would really value someone who can help dig into
how to accommodate needs that people might have including visual support,
auditory support, technology help, and others.
   - Promotion & Education - I'd love some help to hold a couple trainings
ahead of time on how to participate in a Zoom meeting, on training hosts on
Zoom security and managing any concerns, etc.

I'm sure other things will come up but that's the core team.

Here's how the event is described on the website that Tymme has created:
http://wyewood.geyercomputers.com/

With a little creativity and imagination, let's join together around a
campfire and create memories. This overnight camping event invites
attendees to create their own camping experience and join others doing the
same. Whether it means pitching a tent in the backyard, building a blanket
castle (fort) in the dining room, or draping the bedroom with medieval
banners, participants can join together to share the dream virtually.

Activities to be determined but will include a Great Hall, an A&S Salon,
classes, and bardic. Other activities may include a campsite contest, a
scavenger hunt, and games. Participants will receive a "site token" to use
on Facebook or otherwise during the event.

In Service,

HL Gwir verch Merewith
