Greetings, Wyewood!

His Excellency and I have enjoyed traveling to visit our neighbors of Blatha an Oir, Aqua Terra, Madrone, and Druimm Doineann recently, as well as up to Tir Righ and the Barony of Lion’s Gate for Crown. Thank you to those who have travelled with us. We will be continuing that trend with the following events:

  * October 25-27 - Collegium (Kingdom Event) in Glymm Mere (Olympia)
  *   November 2 - Sven’s Harvest Games and Dance Porte de L’Eau
  * December 7 - Yule Feast in Glymm Mere (Olympia)
  *   December 15 - Dragon’s Laire Yule (Kingston)
  * January 10-12 - Kingdom 12th Night and Coronation Adiantum (Eugene)

We hope many of you can also travel with us. For those who cannot, we encourage you to use the cold winter months ahead to work on crafts at home. Learn a new skill or perhaps use an older one to work on that next improvement in your kit. And be thinking ahead to the Feast of St. Bubba.

In Service,

Alarich, Baron

Aline, Baroness

Seneschal (Master Martyn Baxter)

  * Still a vacant spot for Social media officer
  * Will keep meetings posted for the next 3 months with holidays
  * Reminder all officer 3rd quarter reports are due.
  *   New business
  * Rauqulfr – St bubba Event proposal
  * Gwir - Norwescon or library display (Wyewood marketing and demos)
  * Bjorn - Fund raiser for kneeling, sitting benches.
     * $500 a bench, made by Three Mountains
     * Will raise funds at St. Bubbas feast in a silent auction – funds exceeding bench could be used towards Raven travel fund or a bench for the kingdom? Need items donated to auction.

Exchequer (Mistress Sara de Bonneville)

  *   Bank balances discussed
  * Need second signer for Archery re-imbursement
  * Officers need to contact exchequer for budgeting before sending off to Kingdom for next year.

Arts & Sciences (HL Sofia de Toledo)

  * The 3Q Report has been submitted.
  * This has been another low participation month…The FCS program for October was a preview by HL Gera of her Collegium class on Event Stewarding. There were 7 around the table (and a couple of lurkers in a second tier). She provided a great overview of the planning and execution requirements for a successful event, and handouts.
  * Sewing (and Scribal) nights continue to struggle. HL Aurora had 2 participants in the newly set up sewing space on September 30, and 2 on the 14th as well – and she even offered soup! No scribal report this month – I am guessing they are still looking for scribal work!
  * Dance practice this month will be Thursday evening (10/17), not in time for the October (interim) report.
  *   Events/Activities to come:
     * October Collegium is October 25-27, in Olympia. HL Gera and Lady Gwir are teaching.
  * November: There will be talk and discussion about the Sergeantry at the 11/8 FCS.
  * Maestra Sara will provide music and dance for the final FCS on December 13th.
  * Dance Classes: Scheduled for November 21
  * Sewing/Scribal Nights: Sewing 2nd and 4th Mondays (or 5th! Monday!). Scribal 1st and 3rd Mondays. Watch for posts!
  * Culinary guild got approval for a budget. Need to communicate with Exchequer to make it official.

**Culinary: We do have a team for St Bubbas, assuming it is scheduled! We are still trying to get a casual gathering scheduled, with all the conflicts of events and travel and illness!

Chamberlain (Lord Rasmus Ravnsson)

  * No report at this time

Chatelaine (Baroness Gabriel LePinay)

  * Talk about business card- still in the works.

Chronicler (Hafpora Kristna)

  * Still getting used to the position. Contacted James Redbeard regarding the newsletter. Due to mundane life issues he hadn’t gotten around to working on it. Contacting him gave him a push/boost to get back on to it.
  * Will contact populace for ideas to add to the newsletter.

  *   Interviews
  *   Event reviews

Family Activities Coordinator (HL Aurora Prindel)

  * No report at this time.

Herald(Friderich von Werla)

  * Has two new heraldic projects for the Barony, will continue research.

Marshal: Archery(Arcos Tymme Lytefellow)

  * Archery is still happening. Johann mowed the range for us on short notice. We have an extra practice on 10-27 to allow an extra chance to get final scores in for the season.
  * I want to have an end of season gathering to hand out rank medallions, celebrate accomplishments, and just hang out. Not sure if there's any budget to maybe buy a couple pizzas to share.
  * I need help with some maintenance, mostly at my house. We need to go through the foam we have and see if we can repair any of the target butts. We need to wax the strings on the loaner bows. We need to trim the cardboard for some targets. If the weather is dry, we could glue up some more targets.
  * I am slowly getting some loaner arrows fixed, so if anyone wants to learn how to refletch arrows, the opportunity is there for hands on learning
  * The yahoo archery email list is dying, make sure to start using officer emails and the email list

Marshal: Rapier (Arcos Dearbhail inghean Donnchaid)

  * We have had rapier practice this month. We have had 3-5 fighters show up each practice. One "new-ish" person showed up last week and she says her sons are interested in the marshal aspects of the SCA, too. They are old enough to use adult equipment and rules.

**Everyone has behaved, and no additional paperwork has been generated.

Marshal: Safety (HL Donatello Asino)

  * No report at this time.

Thrown Weapons (_________)

  * No report at this time.

Scribe (Lord Mikial Aldrich)

  * Keep an eye out for future classes

Social Media Officer (vacant)

Webster (Lord Geoffrey of the Reeds)

  * No report at this time.

  * Feast of St. Bubba has a date finalized. March 21St 2020. Will be at the Auburn Senior Center. Needs funds for deposit for the site and to provide insurance. There will be plenty of space for dancing and activities. Sofia to get a team and food list put together.
