Hmm -- I would suggest asking Master Archers about safety --- I do not 
consider a crossbow to be a beginners weapon, so ask for opinions on 
safety for a loaner

   ... why yes, I was a girl scout troop leader ... it makes you pause 
and ask,
         "what's t he worst that can happen ... now double it"
