Greetings glorious Wyewood!
Feast of Saint Bubba, what a wonderful event! Once again our barony and
honored guests gathered to celebrate this day with great tasting food
(both the lunch and the feast itself!), classes, tournaments, games,
music and dancing. But best of all, fine companionship of friends
arriving from near and far sharing hugs, stories, and laughter, enough
to fill the hall.
Our amazing event steward Gwir has already said so many thanks yous that
we will not repeat them but just echo our gratitude. M'lady Gwir put
together a fine team, several first time participants (including
herself!) on an event crew, and they succeeded in so many ways. We have
both been on teams and know there can be many pitfalls but they came
together and presented a fine event for all to enjoy. Well done to you
all and thank you.
To our noble cousins of Madrone, Glymm Mere and Stromgard, thank you for
coming and sharing our day of celebration. You honor us with your
presence and friendship, which helps keep the peace in An Tir. Also to
our former Royal Patrons, Cire and Elizabeth, thank you for returning
and sharing our table.
Unto HL Alamanda and her cadre of scribes, our heartfelt thanks. Her
Ladyship's Muse returned to her and inspired so many of the amazing
scrolls it was our pleasure to sign and present in court. The untold
hours all scribes spend doing research of the type of scroll a persona
would receive, to facebook stalking a recipient to get the right image
of someone's cats for the marginalia, boggles the mind. Then they must
create it!
Our retinue and Sergeantry of Wyewood saw to so many of our personal
needs, as always. Special thanks to Lady Eadaoin who made certain we had
retinue and HL Avine for not only coordinating our court but also making
sure that we had enough heralds to fill Dame Esclarmonde de
Porcairages's shoes for the day. Thank you all, for coffee, a gentle
reminder and the many smiles as you went about the hall.
At this Feast of St. Bubba, it was our pleasure to bestow upon HL Avine
de Herte the Wye Knot, our barony's highest award. Her Ladyship displays
all the qualities of nobility, gives freely of her time, teaches others
what she's learned, displays prowess on the archery range, pays
attention to the details, is our herald and does so much more. As HL
Constantine said "Without Avine, Wyewood would not be a barony." This is
the epitome of Wyewood and it simply would not be the same without her.
Well deserved and welcome to the Order!
And of special note, heartfelt thanks to HL Natasha Orionova for her
continued friendship of Wyewood. Her graceful and inspiring rescue of a
struggling young bard showed everything that is good in the Society in
one moment that will be treasured in our lore.
Thank you all again for coming to our feast and celebrating with us!
Evrard de Valone, Baron of Wyewood
Alessandra de Montefeltro, Baroness of Wyewood
