I was the one that suggested repurposing the old pavilion poles into new armorial hanger upright poles.
However, when I was loading the poles into my trailer this afternoon I noticed the old pavilion poles are 2x3's.  The current armorial poles are 2x2's.  Which means I will have to make custom bases and the old armorial poles & bases will not be interchangeable with the new ones.  Or I will have to cut 1/4" off each side (because of the top caps) to bring them down to 2x2 (1-1/2" x 1-1/2" actual); then they will be interchangeable with the old bases.
Also, the caps and rods on the end are overkill for the armorials.
So... yeah.
Since 2x2's are not very expensive, maybe re-purposing the old pavilion poles into armorial poles may not be the best option.

For those that were not present at afternoon court at Wyewood Champions Court:

We are selling taller poles for the baronial pavilion. What does this mean?

  *   You pay a $25 tax-deductible donation to the Barony of Wyewood.
  *   This purchases a new perimeter pole
  *   You then get to have your name (or 25 other characters) burnt into the pole so that others may know of your generosity.

Doesn’t this sound like a great deal?

The funds from the selling of these poles will be used for: purchasing the new poles, rings, pegs, wood conditioner, and (probably) replacement ropes as well. We do not yet have a solid plan for the old poles. Current ideas include: replacing poles for the hanky, using for the armorials, and selling to the populace. Do you have an idea?

Order your pole today!

  1.  Send me an email with your request
  2.  Mail a check to the Barony at PO Box 59804 – Renton, WA 98058-9804
