[Wyewood] Exchequer Office Opening!

Greetings, all. 

HL Liadain has asked that I send a note with basic requirements of holding the Office of Exchequer. We are looking for an immediate Deputy, to look over my shoulder as the 4Q/final 2017 report is completed! It would be my responsibility to get the 2017 Domesday Report successfully submitted, and the Deputy would be taking over in January 2018. What an opportunity! 

The largest responsibility of the Exchequer (of course!) is the Domesday Report (annual financial record). This is a cumulative report, with updates required for each quarter. The reports for 1Q, 2Q and 3Q are submitted electronically to the Kingdom Exchequer. The 4Q/final report for the year is signed and submitted in paper form, in addition to the electronic version. Reports are required by the end of the month following the end of quarter. This report captures everything else in the Exchequer's responsibilities, deposits made, checks written, and details of the same. 

We now have an Exchequer area Deputy, a "coach" available to mentor and troubleshoot the report. Our current Deputy is HE Elewyn, in Aquaterra. If there is an issue with completion of the report, HE Elewyn is there to help! It is most important to let the Kingdom Exchequer, and your Deputy know how you are doing, they are both willing to help! If you have asked for help by the due dates, no one will come looking for you! 

The other very visible requirement is sending the NMR check to SCA, Inc/Kingdom of An Tir after each event. There is an NMR Deputy who watches this process, as it is money that SCA, Inc is watching. The Kingdom cares about this process! Great visibility available...! 

Wyewood also has a Quarterly Financial Committee Meeting, consisting of the Seneschal, Baron and Baroness and led by the Exchequer. Results of this meeting are presented to the populace. 

There are obviously procedures and processes behind these responsibilities, but I think these are the major points - and opportunities!
