[Wyewood] Wyewood pavilions

I would comment that I have generally stopped in on my way home from work to
help with setup, arou 4:30 in the afternoon, and they are already setting
things up and willing to have help.

So, whenever you are willing to show up, and help out, do! Also, don't be
in garb Friday...do bring gloves, possibly some common tools (mallets being
the most common need), and be prepared for whatever weather conditions...A
lot of the setup is on the dirt infield of a sand/dirt horse track, so if it
rains at all...

Hail and well met, Rob:

As Beleg stated, you only pay site fee once for the weekend.  I expect gate
will officially open Saturday morning.  The Friday evening setup and FCS
will not require a site fee, and the Sunday fight practice, as stated in the
site copy, will not require a site fee either.

FCS typically starts at 7PM when we are at the Great Hall in Des Moines.  As
it is Friday afternoon traffic and I work, I do not expect to be on site
until 6:30 - 7PM.  Others, however, may be there earlier and able to use
help.

As to whether you are welcome as a new person to attend fight practice?
Absolutely!  If you do more than just watch (i.e. step into armor), please
be sure to sign the waiver provided by the marshal, as we want to be sure
you understand the risks of our beloved sports of heavy combat and rapier.
It is also a great time to ask questions and learn more about getting
engaged.

Regards,

Constantine

Hi Richard,
Site fees are normally per event, not per day.
As to the fight practice, I'll let one of the fighters answer that.

Just in case, here is the events web page

hanky, my personal pavilion, and the Ladies of the Rose / Valorous Estate
pavilion, all of which will be arriving Friday evening for setup.  Rasmus

>As your noble Seneschal posted, FCS on Friday will be at Reber Ranch to
help setup and decorate.  Many hands are required to put so many pavilions
in place in so little time.  Just as important, when the event ends on
Sunday, we need just as many hands, if not more, to put all these pavilions
away.  For most of this canvas, this represents the final packup for winter
hibernation, so it needs to be inspected for wear, swept, and packed tight.
If you enjoy the shade, please schedule time to come on out and setup /
teardown.
