[Wyewood] Mostly Messes Event Report (Steward not at meeting)

Greetings Wyewood, I, apparently, am not alone in not feeling well today.  It's not awful, but enough that I ought to be keeping my germs to myself.  So, here what I was going to say to report on Mostly Messes at the business meeting.  Someone can be free to read this off at the meeting if you would like.  The good news: The event ran smoothly and people enjoyed it!  We had a total of 106 people of various ages come into the event.  People said they had fun and liked the site.  My staff team was AWESOME, and any of them would be great on future event teams.  I even got to take classes and have fun at my own event, so something must have gone right! The bad news: We lost money -- $307.99.  Why?  Partially because the site cost unexpectedly went up.  Partly because most people day-tripped and we therefore took in fewer camping fees than anticipated/hoped for.   What could be done?  One could charge more for daytrippers.  One could look for a cheaper site (tough for camping in King County).   One could advertise martial activities more.  Although it was on the website and Crier ad, some arrived not realizing we were offering heavy fighting.  We may have gotten more if this were put more up front in the e-mail advertising.
