I present the introduction of Francesca da Monte...

To my King and Queen and to these very high and powerful princes, dukes,
counts, barons, lords, knights and squires at arms, and most especially to
the honorable and gentle ladies of the Berfrois do I, Francesca da Monte,
send joyous salutations!



I notify you now that I will come to join my fellow Venants upon this field
of honor in this the Twelfth Emprise of the Black Lion, a very great
festival of arms and a very noble tourney.



You may know me by the banner my herald shall carry bearing my proposed
arms: gules, a pale or, a wolf's head erased sable.



Mounted on my spirited bay mare Tally Ho Noel the swift and nimble, I
challenge all comers in Ring Tilt, Pig Sticking, Quintaine, and Lance at
Three Heights. I participate in such a noble deed as this tourney in honor
of my inspiration and consort Dirk the Dark, he who carries my soul and is
the light of my eyes.
