<html><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:tahoma, new york, times, serif;font-size:10pt"><div>Good morning, officers:</div><div><br></div><div>The agenda for Monday's officer meeting will be released later this afternoon to the general list. Prior to that, I would like to highlight some items that we will be discussing at that meeting and in the coming months.</div><div><br></div><ul><li>Officer openings: Perhaps I've not put enough emphasis on these openings, or maybe I haven't taken to apply appropriate pressure. However, I have not received an applicant for any of our open positions, save Exchequer. And this list is expanding. At this time we have need for: Chatelaine, Arts & Sciences Minister, Rapier Marshal, and Chirurgeon. I ask all officers to encourage anyone you may know that has expressed a possible interest in any of these positions to step up and serve their branch. I know
there has been considerable hand-wringing and wait & see the last few months during our polling period. With the poll results in, I think we leverage the upswing to attract candidates.</li><li>Upcoming openings: With the selection of Lady Matillis to the Exchequer's office, we now have an immediate opening for Contingent Exchequer. The time has come for Lord Tomas to retire as Contingent Seneschal. As a business item I would like to propose to the officers and bring to the Shire Business Meeting a restructure to the Contingent Seneschal position to behave similarly to the Contingent Exchequer position. Wyewood has a convoluted process of how this position works, and is poorly understood and misnamed by almost everyone. I would like this fixed and written into the Customary.</li><li>Speaking of the Customary... regardless of our branch status, this is something that needs to get done. With a mandate now to pursue a
formal Baronial bid, we now can begin drafting provisions that address Baronial concerns. <br></li><li>The same can be said of the Financial Policy. It is a more mature document, but still needs revising. I know the FP is on a good footing for acceptance by Kingdom, because Earl Cire, who was an author, helped Madrone write theirs this past year. The documents are similar, and I expect we'll look at the baronial language in theirs by which to model ours.</li><li>Baronial bid packet: I will be outlining the details of what we need to accomplish in the coming months. I need to make sure all the Officers are on the same page so that as this rolls out to the populace and beyond, there is a consistent master plan of what has to get done. From my ongoing conversation with Master James, I will be providing details of how and when the Baronial candidate process will work, as the mechanics are different for a branch
transitioning in status than it is for one established. <br></li></ul><div>Madrone has asked us for permission to host an Afters for the Board of Directors meeting coming up. The BoD meeting is atypical in that it is not the kind of event placed on the Kingdom calendar. The meeting will be happening in Tukwila (known to the rest of the world as Seattle, hence leading to confusion right there). The BoD meeting is more or less self-sufficient, but Madrone is hosting an Afters someplace in Des Moines. I have been asked to provide our blessing, and I see no reason to deny the request. Wyewood has been invited to attend the party, which I believe has already been sent to our list. The BoD business meeting is open to all that wish to attend, and is in mundane dress.</div><div><br></div><div>I would ask all officers to make an effort to attend this month. I will have an Officer Change form for Lady Matillis to
which I need as many of you to fill out as possible. We return this month to the Renton Highlands Library, starting at 7PM.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Renton Highlands Library </div>
