*Arts & Sciences Report – Sofia*

Fiber/A&S Support Night is persisting through the summer.
HL Aurora’s sewing night is gathering speed on Monday evenings.
Regularly 8 people in attendance.



Wyewood’s participation in the An Tir Apprentice Team Challenge is also
gathering speed.  Our sponsoring Laurel, Magistra Aline will provide a full
report.


Upcoming classes:  August 10th, presented by Sybil ate Leadon:  Anglo Saxon
Riddles.  Bring your creative pencils!  She is putting her -toe? -thumb?
Into the A&S Competition waters, and this is her trial run.  Be prepared to
participate!



Sept 14th, Sofia will be presenting:  Draft materials for a Collegium class
on (Early) Medieval Knitting: How did they do that? No participation or
amusement – just amazement!

*Herald/Pursuivant Report – Avine*

A small amount of consulting has been going on via email/facebook.
One submission is currently at Kingdom Level.

Due to health concerns, I find it necessary to step down early.  A post was
made yesterday for seeking applicants.  I will continue until Pursuivant a
replacement is selected and continue as a deputy to support.

*Archery Report – Tymme*

We have been having regular archery and thrown weapons practices.



I now have access to enter thrown weapons scores should Geoffrey not be
able to for any reason.



I am going to need to buy target faces, and possibly some more Bulldog
repair kits.  To get target faces for a good price, they cost something
around $120 for 100.  I’m not sure if my budget has room for that.



We had a longbow break at a practice, nothing catastrophic, just a
delamination that meant unstringing the bow and not using it anymore.

*Wyewood Champions – Event Steward – Martyn*


*August 11th, 2018  ** Coming up in 15-16 days! *
Lawn Care/Prep for Champions
Sunday August 5th st 10 am  all hands on deck to get the lawn mowed for
champions.  It sounds like I have 3 lawn mowers, if anyone has weed
trimmers or other devices to cut down the grass please bring.


Gate Fee: $7 for members and $12 for non-members. Guests under 18 are free.
Lunch is only $5.

Tentative Schedule for Wyewood Champions:
7am volunteers begin set-up.
9am gate opens to public.
10am opening court. Swearing in competitors
10:30 heavy and thrown weapons
11:30 rapier.
12:30-lunch, A&S, archery begins
3pm final rounds of archery
4pm closing court
After closing court - tear down and clean up

All competitors will be expected to declare their intentions to compete at
opening court (10am), and be willing to swear an oath of fealty or service
if they should be victorious (4pm). Competitors are required to be current
SCA members, but do not have to be living in Wyewood to be a champion. We
ask that they shall not be champions in another branch at the same time
without permission of the Baron & Baroness (please email
Wyewood.Coronet at AnTir.org).
